My name is Julia and I’m from Spokane, Washington. During my gap year, I went backpacking through Italy and Greece for 8 weeks! I am forever grateful that I had the opportunity to take a gap year like this and travel. It 100% helped me realize what I wanted in the future regarding college and just life overall. Learning to live “on my own” on a different continent with 8 strangers sounded so scary at first, but I am so happy that I went through with it because I have grown so much as a person. I am more confident traveling and have become much more independent. It was truly a once in a lifetime opportunity and it was so special. I think about my gap year program every single day and how much I miss the people and the overall experience. I would not have been able to find the program I chose without Stashia’s help. She truly cares about helping to find the best fit for you. I am so grateful for all she has done!

Stashia at GlobalLife Education Consulting was extremely beneficial to us in putting together a gap year plan for our son. After covid interrupted high school, our son wanted to take some time away from academics to figure out his next steps. Stashia did a great job asking questions to identify his interests and needs, and she recommended several programs for us to look at. She was also very helpful with making introductions to program leaders and setting up meetings to learn more about the offerings. Stashia is kind, and thorough, and she is an excellent resource when planning a gap year.

Our daughter took a gap year immediately after high school and had the opportunity to live both in Central America as well as Spain. She knew she wanted to go to a Spanish speaking country but didn’t have a specific program in mind. Before finding Stashia, we found the process a bit overwhelming as there were so many different gap year programs to choose from. Stashia did an excellent job of really identifying what our daughter was looking for in a program and then provided several different options from which she could choose. Stashia was a wealth of knowledge and was able to provide us with the confidence our daughter needed in choosing a program and both programs ended up being a great fit for her. We can’t thank Stashia enough for helping ensure our daughter found two programs that she really enjoyed and giving us the peace of mind that she was in good hands as she traveled abroad after completing high school. Hello! My name is Eliza, and last year I chose to take a gap year before moving on to the next step in my education. My gap year was hands down the best decision I’ve made to date, and so much of that is thanks to my gap year counselor, Stashia. Stashia not only assured me that I would choose safe, wonderful programs, but also ones that truly fulfilled my personal needs and passions. For the first portion of my gap year, I was an education volunteer in Bali, Indonesia, and I then finished with three months trekking and learning among the Himalayan mountains in Nepal.My gap year fundamentally changed me as a person, to my core—leaving me with a stronger sense of clarity around my passions and direction, as well as a deeper capacity for gratitude and connection. I wholeheartedly would not be here without Stashia’s endless support and guidance, and I encourage anyone considering a gap year to work with her.
